Talent Acquisition and Training Manager

Sammer Zehra is a passionate educator who has worked with students in various settings for over a decade, striving to help students become globally conscious citizens and engage in community service to build leadership skills and impact society.

She graduated cum laude from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary English Education focusing on pedagogy and curriculum, along with a degree in Computer Programming. She earned a Master of Education degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in Educational Policy Studies with a focus on Global Studies in Education. She is a published author in the book, Interculturalism, Education & Dialogue. She is also the co-founder of The Global Scholars - Pakistan, which seeks to promote English language literacy in remote and underserved areas of Pakistan. In Chicago, she has established a not-for-profit, The Mommy League Post-Partum Services, which supports new mothers during the postpartum period.

Sammer pursued her desire to study Quranic Arabic in Cairo, Egypt for a year at the renowned Fajr Center. After completing the program, she has continued to seek Islamic knowledge through local scholars and institutions, such as Qalam Institute, Fawakih, AlMaghrib, and Dar-ul-Qasim.

She began working with Fawakih as the Executive Lead for Chicago in September 2015.
